I first heard from uAspire in my senior year of high school. My advisor, Katrina, started texting me about financial aid and college, but I didn't respond at first. Eventually, I replied and met with her, and that is how I got connected to uAspire and learned there was real help available with financial aid and FAFSA.

Since then, I have had a few different uAspire advisors, and what I like is that they stay with you through high school. They continue to check in throughout college to see if you have any questions about financial aid, FAFSA, or other aspects of paying for school. Knowing I can reach out when something comes up has been very helpful.

Currently, I am a junior at Asbury University in Kentucky, majoring in Media Communications with an emphasis in Film Production. The transition from high school to college was a big change. I had to adjust to a faster pace, actually studying more, and keeping up with my syllabus. It was also my first time being far from home and not knowing many people. Being part of the intercultural life orientation helped me make close friends and feel more at home on campus.

For me, earning a college degree is another significant accomplishment. It marks a point where I made it this far, learned from my institution, and now I am ready for what comes next. I hope it opens more doors for me, whether that is film school for graduate studies, Bible school, or other opportunities that move me closer to achieving my goals.
