After being an advisor in New York for almost three years, finding ways to connect and relate to each student is still my favorite part of the job. When I work with a student, it's important that they know I am in their corner.

My interest in working in the college access space came from how difficult college was for me financially and realizing it is for so many students. I think about all the people who have helped me throughout my life, and the difference having support can make.

uAspire’s focus on financial aid and supporting students through college sets us apart from other organizations. When I applied for college, I was so nervous about the application process that I signed up for almost every service I could find. I received a lot of information but did not find a program offering individualized or ongoing student support. Even with the information I received and support from school counselors and my parents, the process was still confusing.

Looking back, I realize there were so many resources available, I just didn't know where to find them. As an advisor, I enjoy providing the support I needed in college and seeing the difference it can make on a student's journey.
