Adult learners bring significant life and professional experience, resourcefulness, and determination to postsecondary education, yet many navigate systems that were not designed around the realities of their lives. Join uAspire for the launch of our new report “There Is No Single Experience: Voices From Bay Area Adult Learners,” examining the experiences of adult learners in the San Francisco Bay Area. Drawing on conversations with 32 adult learners and nine practitioners, the research explores what motivates adults to pursue postsecondary education, the barriers they encounter, how those barriers can compound over time, and the policies and practices that can better support their success.

During this one-hour webinar, uAspire will share key findings from the research, including the Adult Learner Compounding Barriers Framework and the Discovery Gap, followed by a conversation with an adult learner, community-based program staff, and a higher education practitioner. Together, panelists will explore how the findings show up in practice and what it takes to create clearer, more flexible, and better-connected pathways for adult learners.
