Nick Steck
Senior Vice President, Global Delivery Head of Operational Resiliency, State Street
Nick Steck, a first-generation college graduate, has been the Global Head of Operational Resiliency for Global Delivery, the largest division of State Street, since 2023. Prior to that, he served as the Operations Transformation Workstream Lead (2019-2023) for the State Street Enterprise Transformation Program, a Program designed to yield sustainable productivity and savings through transformational initiative execution. From 2016-2019, he served as Business Controls Executive for the Investor Services Division. In this role, he collaborated with the business teams to improve process design and controls, implement metrics to track improvements, and embed a risk excellence mindset into daily operations.
Nick joined State Street in 2016 from Fidelity Investments where he was Senior Vice President of Fund Operations from 2009 until his transition. In this capacity, Nick led a 700+ person domestic and international back-office operation providing Fund Accounting, Pricing, Reconciliation, Fund Reporting (financial and registration statements), Tax, Publishing, Transfer Agent, and Treasury Operations to ~6000 accounts and 20 investment advisory entities. Nick also served as Chief Financial Officer of the Strategic Advisers Funds (2009-2015). Prior to leading Fund Operations, Nick served as the Asset Management Compliance Officer (2002-2009) where he led a team responsible for ensuring that the investment activities of the Fidelity-affiliated investment advisers were in compliance with all applicable rules and regulations. From 2000 until 2002, he was director of New Products and Business Intake at Fidelity Management and Research Company where he oversaw and coordinated new product and new instrument-type intake across all Fidelity organizations. Nick has also previously held vice president and director positions at State Street Bank and Trust Company, Colonial Management Associates, and Fidelity Accounting and Custody Services Company.
Nick previously served on the H. Olive Day Elementary School Council and the KPW Youth Hockey Board. He also held many other coaching positions in youth hockey and baseball and was a multiple-year winner of the Fidelity Cares Best-in-Class Volunteer award.
Nick earned his BA in Business Administration, Accounting from the University of Notre Dame.
