Mel Limorin
College Affordability Advisor
Mel is a College Affordability Advisor for the Afford program. Mel's primary goal is to support students and families through the confusing financial aid process and make it accessible. Before uAspire, she graduated from Brandeis University with a bachelor's degree in Education. Mel has extensive experience working with students to help them with the college application process, such as cofounding a pilot program to work with a local high school at Brandeis. She was also awarded the Eli J. & Phyllis N. Segal Fellowship award, for which she used those funds to intern with CollegeBound: Dorchester.
As a first-generation college student and daughter of Haitian immigrants, Mel is inspired by the mission and goals of uAspire. "I strongly believe in representation and modeling as an effective teaching tool; it was imperative that I had the first-hand experience in an area that would assist with poverty alleviation through education.
