Alayna Blodgett

College Affordability Advisor

Alayna is a College Affordability supporting high school seniors at CRLS and Somerville High School. As an advisor, she assists students and their families in making financially safe college decisions. Prior to arriving at uAspire, Alayna gained knowledge of the nonprofit and higher education system while serving as an AmeriCorps member at Bottom Line College Counseling in Boston. During her time as the Volunteer Outreach Coordinator at Bottom Line, she connected first-generation and low-income college students with professionals in the Greater Boston area. Additionally, she assisted students with mock interviews, resume reviews, and other employability resources. Alayna is also a first-generation graduate from the University of New Hampshire where she obtained her BA in Sociology and Women's & Gender Studies.

Why uAspire?

I chose to work at uAspire because as a first-generation college graduate, I understand how difficult the college financial process can be. All individuals should have access to higher education opportunities and I believe uAspire is an organization working to make that a reality.
