May Bumar is a former student advisee of uAspire and has been devoted to working with the organization since 2011. May is a first generation college graduate and serves on the national board as well as several committees on behalf of uAspire. She graduated from Northeastern University with a B.S in finance and accounting and currently works in tech at Liberty Mutual Investments.

May and her family came to the states as Vietnamese refugees in 1992. She grew up in Dorchester, MA and is a proud Bostonian. She has a passion for helping disadvantaged communities and knows first hand the impact of a college degree. She is committed to removing financial barriers for low income families and feels strongly about improving educational resources to help students reach their academic goals and improve their career prospects.

In her spare time she loves to travel, explore music and fashion, eat good food, and spend time with her loved ones.
