Chief Executive Officer
As uAspire's chief executive officer, Jaclyn’s core responsibilities are strategic leadership and governance, organizational and people management, external relations, and fundraising.
Jaclyn has been a key member of uAspire’s executive leadership team since 2017. Previously, as chief regional officer, Jaclyn strengthened uAspire’s influence and coordinated our impact in Massachusetts, New York City, and the San Francisco Bay Area. In her initial role, executive director of the Bay Area site, Jaclyn secured funding and strategic partnerships to advance its regional profile and financial sustainability significantly.
Prior to joining uAspire, Jaclyn worked at Bay Area Legal Aid for 14 years where she was responsible for a $16 million revenue portfolio and advancing their mission through sustainable resource alignment.
Jaclyn is a Bay Area native, the daughter of two immigrant parents, and the first in her family to graduate from college. Jaclyn earned her BS in international business and a minor in Spanish from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and studied and lived in Puebla, Mexico. She lives in Oakland, CA with her husband and two children and serves as a member of the Rivet School Board of Directors.
As a child of immigrant parents and the first person in my family to graduate college, our mission is deeply personal. I have experienced first-hand the transformative power of a postsecondary education, and I believe that education remains the cornerstone in our fight for social justice.
I am honored to serve as uAspire’s CEO at a pivotal moment in our country’s history. A college degree remains the most powerful engine for economic and social mobility, I will work tirelessly on behalf of our students so that they may have access to opportunities that will change the trajectory of their lives.
Thank you for your support of our mission and your belief in the power of an affordable college degree.
