Ann Coles, Senior Fellow for College Access Programs at uAspire, was a featured speaker at a national summit meeting organized by the Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP) and the Pathways to College Network.

At this event, Ann offered insight on the work uAspire has done to highlight the benefits of higher education. With many students themselves questioning the value of a college education, Ann described uAspire’s work with students – from as early as middle school – to better understand the college financial aid process.

IHEP release a new paper at this event, entitled “The Investment Payoff: Reassessing and Supporting Efforts to Maximize the Benefits of Higher Education for Underserved Populations.” This paper explores many factors that impact the value of a college degree – including type of credential. The paper also notes that, generally, more education leads to greater lifetime earnings potential and less unemployment.
