Candace Lau-Hansen

Managing Director and Senior Banker, J.P. Morgan Private Bank

Candace Lau-Hansen is a Managing Director and Senior Banker in the Boston office of J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank. Candace has over 30 years of financial services experience in both banking and asset management.

Candace spent 15 years in investment banking, starting her career at Bankers Trust Company in project finance, then later joining Chase Manhattan Bank in their financial institutions group. She managed investment banking relationships with insurance companies in both Europe and the US, focusing on public and private financing transactions, M&A advisory, and structured derivatives. She later moved to the capital markets area, where she headed the global reinsurance sales team for structured credit.

In 2003, she joined Primus Asset Management , where she was responsible for new business and product development, strategic initiatives and counterparty relationships. In 2006, Candace joined Redwood Trust, a residential mortgage REIT, where she led the company’s expansion into third-party asset management as their head of business development. She has co-authored articles on credit derivatives and is an avid sailor.

Candace serves on the boards of the Codman Academy Foundation and uAspire Massachusetts. She also sits on the Professional Advisors Committee for the Boston Foundation.

Candace received her B.A. from Yale University and holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses.
