Bruce Thompson

President, Thompson Wealth Management, Ltd.

Bruce is President of Thompson Wealth Management, Ltd., a private wealth management firm located in Concord, MA. He also manages TWM Monument Partners, which provides seed capital for early-stage companies with an emphasis on social impact. Through his leadership and vision, TWM has earned a reputation for careful financial stewardship, singular commitment to clients and innovative, and objective thinking.

Founded in 1991, TWM was an early adopter of the fee-only, independent Registered Investment Advisory model which helped disrupt and forever change the way financial advice is provided and consumed in the U.S. TWM pioneered the Personal CFO client model, and helped move the needle for 401k participants toward a fiduciary standard, lower costs, and open architecture platform transparency; the competitive pressure exerted by like-minded advisers paved the way for passage of the DOL’s Fiduciary Rule for provision of advice to retirement plans.

In life, as with investing, Bruce embraces balance. Residing in Sudbury, MA, with his wife and two children, the family is involved in many charitable and cultural pursuits and Bruce has enjoyed lifelong involvement with athletics–tennis, rowing, hockey, golf, squash and alpine and Nordic skiing. As a competitive cyclist Bruce raced in two U.S. National Masters Championships. Bruce attended Nichols School, Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, and the London School of Economics. Prior to TWM, he was VP of investments at Smith Barney, VP at Dean Witter, and account executive at EF Hutton.
