Meet the Interns: Louisa Lee

Hello readers,

I’m Louisa Lee, a soon-to-be senior at Williams College.

By the time this blog post hits the web-o-sphere, I will sadly have ended my internship at uAspire. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend my summer!

During my time at the uAspire Boston office, I had the great fortune of interning for the External Affairs department (despite my corner cubicle always being 10 degrees colder than the rest of office). Throughout my internship, I helped manage Board of Trustees relations, print things, strategize donor stewardship, print things, complete various research projects, and print more things. There was never a dull moment! And while I learned to love and hate the printer, each project that was thrown my way was interesting and dynamic and shed light on how a successful non-profit like uAspire functions. Even the data entry projects proved to be invaluable lessons in database management and strategic thinking.

However cliché, the people that work at uAspire are what really made my experience so outstanding. At each moment, someone was willing to let me sit in on a meeting, teach me a new skill, help me connect the dots and really trust me with a weighty project. I’ve learned invaluable lessons from the people here and have come closer to pinpointing what a fulfilling career might actually mean for me.

I was constantly inspired by the dedication of the uAspire staff (Dedicated stars should go to everyone!). Thank you all for an amazing experience. Although I’m shipping back out to the opposite corner of Massachusetts, I hope we can cross paths again soon!

P.S. A very special thanks to the other uAspire interns, Abby, Ariel, Courtney, and Terry for being awesome lunch buddies and partners in crime!
