  • Serving New York City

In 2018-19, we launched our student advising and counselor training in New York City, bringing our college affordability services to the largest and most diverse school system in the nation.

Our lead partner in New York is CollegeBound Initiative (CBI), a college guidance program of Student Leadership Network impacting more than 18,000 students in 32 schools across the city. In our first year working together, uAspire supported over 4,700 CBI students through text-advising to access financial aid and trained CBI counselors on college affordability and the financial aid process. In the future, uAspire aims to serve a minimum of 10,000 students annually in New York City, ranging from high school juniors to 2nd-year postsecondary students, by the start of the 2021-22 school year.

“uAspire delivers the advanced technological services to support our students’ college persistence and success in this digital age," says Jon Roure, Chief Innovation Officer at Student Leadership Network. "Text messaging from expert virtual advisors ensures that students have an easy compass to navigate the processes that often complicate college completion, including securing financial aid and timely course registration. This collaboration meets CBI’s demands and mission to support the many educational needs of New York City’s public school students’ success in college.”

Program Partners

We are honored to work alongside our extraordinary partners. Together, we work to ensure New York City's students have access to and can afford a college education.

CollegeBound Initiative (CBI) empowers young women and men to realize their higher education and career potential by placing full-time college guidance experts in high-need public schools. CBI counselors maximize students’ college awareness, access, and financial aid awards. CBI participants achieve four-year college degrees at approximately four times the rate of their national peers.
