Prior to joining uAspire, Tanya supported first-generation, low-income and BIPOC students as a College Advisor with UC Berkeley’s Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP) and Destination College Advising Corps (DCAC) in two Bay Area high schools. After her time as a College Advisor, she was an Assistant Resident Director at UCLA. She holds a bachelor's degree (B.A.) from UC Santa Cruz and a master's in Student Affairs (M.Ed) from UCLA.

Why uAspire?

While in high school, I had the opportunity to be a part of EAOP where I had access to a college advisor that supported me with the college application process, financial aid application, as well as connected me with summer opportunities. I am happy to be a part of uAspire because I truly believe that every single student, regardless of their background, deserves to have a viable option in their pathway towards higher education.
