Mya Goodman

College Affordability Advisor

Mya is a College Affordability Advisor in our Succeed program. In this role, she uses a texting platform to provide post-secondary students with financial aid resources to empower them to complete their degree. Mya joined uAspire after graduating from Brandeis University with a double major in education studies and African and Afro-American studies. During her time at Brandeis, Mya advised students at Waltham High School through the college application process and promoted awareness of scholarship opportunities. Mya also worked as a research assistant at the Schuster Institute for Investigative Journalism and as a writing tutor in the English Language Program.

Why uAspire?

Financial aid transformed my life, so it brings me great joy to be able to help other students access and maintain this resource. The work of uAspire is critical because helping students overcome the financial barriers to a college degree makes our country a more equitable place. uAspire’s dedication to college affordability also allows students to focus on—and enjoy—what they came to college for: their education. I am thrilled to be a part of an organization that cares so deeply about the students we serve.
