Melina Dominguez

College Affordability Advisor

Melina is a College Affordability Advisor for our NYC Succeed program. She virtually advises first - and second - year CUNY students in partnership with the CollegeBound Initiative. Melina is a graduate of Amherst College, where she majored in Political Science and Latinx and Latin American Studies. While at Amherst, Melina worked as a mentor and tutor for Reader to Reader and Girls Inc. of Holyoke. At Reader to Reader, she worked to combat literacy disparities in the Pioneer Valley by fostering meaningful virtual mentor/mentee relationships with elementary and middle school students. At Girls Inc.of Holyoke, her primary focus was to help empower young girls through personal mentorship and academic tutoring.

I believe college should be a tangible and affordable option for all students. Being from an underserved community, I know first hand how important it is to have the right guidance and support when trying to access and afford post-secondary education. I'm excited to be part of an organization that is committed to making both of these things a reality.
