Laurie Thomsen

Laurie Thomsen serves as a Director of The Travelers Companies and MFS Mutual Funds. She recently served four years as an executive partner at New Profit, Inc. where she had served on the board for the prior six years. Prior to that, she was a co-founding general partner of Prism Venture Partners, a venture capital firm investing in healthcare and technology companies.

Laurie’s 20-year career in venture capital began at Harbourvest Partners in Boston, where she was a general partner. Laurie started her career in commercial lending at U.S. Trust Company of New York. Laurie is currently a trustee of Williams College, and KickStart, an organization that works with small-scale farmers in Africa to help them increase their income. Laurie is on the visiting committee of the Williams College Museum of Art and was an overseer at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum for many years. She previously served on the board of Horizons for Homeless Children for 13 years. Laurie and her husband, Peter, live in Williamstown, MA.
